CABIN FEVER UK - FOUR FACES OF BASS EP
Wednesday, March 27, 2013
Covering both sides of the Drum and Bass spectrum, Grid and Allsorts have each become a byword for the chilled out and hard-edged sides of the DnB scene alike. Now, after the rolling sounds of Hybrid Mind’s ‘Blame’ and ‘Crossroads’, a slick collaboration from Maduk and Nymfo, Grid Recordings returns for a new bout of hard-hitting DnB.
Formed in 2008 by Deejay/Producer Malachai, Nightbreed, Singer/Songwriter Regina, Deejay/Producer Voltage and Mc Nu Flo, the London & Gloucester based Cabin Fever first teamed up in 2011. With each artist bringing a music history of their own, Cabin Fever has collectively worked with the likes of Les of Lab 4 and featured in such festivals as Innovation & Hysteria. As well as hosting their own radio show on Origin, Cabin Fever have also earned airtime from BBC Radio 1, Asian network, 1Xtra, Grooverider, Hazard, Mampi Swift and Crissy Criss. Well known in DJ circles with support from Ray Keith, Blade Runner, Savage Rehab, Vapour, and many more, one of DnB’s freshest acts now steps up to deliver the Four Faces of Bass EP.

Maduk & Nymfo - Crossroads / Ordinary Ways
Wednesday, March 06, 2013
After the release of the classy Blame / Warm Winters from the phenomenal Hybrid Minds, Allsorts continue to bring the quality Drum and Bass with another slick release, this time from Maduk & Nymfo.
After only beginning to produce in 2011, Maduk has already had releases on the likes of Liquicity, Fokuz and the mighty Hospital Recordings. After 2012 saw him clock over 2 million plays on Youtube for his track ‘Ghost Assassin (feat. Veela)’ as well as winning the official Viper Recordings Beatport remix contest for Matrix & Futurebound’s ‘All I Know’, Maduk is set for an even bigger 2013. Alongside him is Nymfo, one of the most cutting edge producers on the scene. Known for his precise, gritty style Nymfo has earned releases on some of Drum and Bass most enduring labels including Commercial Suicide, Samurai Music, Critical Recordings and Goldie’s legendary Metalheadz. Now the two varied producers join forces for two cuts of precise, soulful classic Drum and Bass on Allsorts.
Crossroads A progressive rolling Drum and Bass track, ‘Crossroads’ is a blend of rich vocal snippets and crystal clear synths. Chugging forward with intricate percussion, a warm bassline and subtle synth work, ‘Crossroads’ has soul and precision in equal measure.
Ordinary Ways The flipside sees both producers combine their unique styles to once again form another classy slice of Drum and Bass. Combining distinctive vocals with rolling drums and bags of atmosphere, ‘Ordinary Ways’ packs in attitude with original percussion, and the result is another sick joint effort.

Tyke - Nightmares EP
Friday, September 14, 2012
After starting the year with the massive 'Infected Headphones' and filthy follow up 'Drug Pusher', Tyke now unleashes the Nightmares EP - 6 tracks of grimy dancefloor orientated Drum and Bass.
‘Nightmares' kicks off the EP, and after chilling synths and an eerie sample, Tyke brings the pain with his trademark bass once again taking no prisoners.
Offering no let up, ‘Dr Death’, ‘Aliens’, ‘The Number’ and ‘Jaguar’ all hit home Tyke’s talent for producing tracks that rock the dancefloor every single time.
’Own It’ rounds off the Nightmare EP in manic fashion. Featuring chaotic breaks and yet another rude bassline, ‘Own It’ bares all the hallmarks of another outrageous Tyke release.

Twisted's Touching Cloth
Monday, November 07, 2011
The mighty Twisted Individual returns with his first new single on Grid Recordings in over a year, with one new track from him and a remix courtesy of rising star Tyke. With all of his signature elements present and correct this is classic Twisted and it definitely doesn’t disappoint.
Going against the current trend for all things commercial in bass music, Twisted’s unique style is sounding fresher than ever, and on ‘Touching Cloth’ it’s all about the hypnotic bass, rolling drums and sneaky bongos. This one has
done damage in his DJ sets for the past 9 months, including blowing the roof off Fabric on numerous occasions.
Tyke has been set loose on one of the biggest tracks from Twisted’s debut album catalogue ‘Throbbing Gristle’. Bringing it right up to date and retaining the vibe, flow and of course Transformers samples that made the original, anticipation for his own debut album grows and grows.

Tyke - The Music Makers EP - Out Now!
Monday, February 28, 2011
The newest signing to Grid Recordings, 'Tyke' drops his debut EP ‘The Music Makers’, and it’s an absolute smasher. A mixture of huge dancefloor d&b with a warm analogue sound and more experimental cuts this debut solo
project marks the arrival of a very exciting new talent.
Tyke’s old skool approach to production, with a full hardware studio creates a unique sound, and gives his tracks a real identity that is unmistakeably his.

Mutated Forms & Netsky - Windows - Out now!
Monday, January 24, 2011
Following on from their previous single, ‘Last Time’ (feat. Jenna G), comes another massive collaboration, Mutated Forms this time hooking up with another of the new breed of Drum and Bass production talent in the shape of fellow 2010 breakthrough artist Netsky. Featuring the talents of Sofia Rubina, one of Europe most exciting upcoming Jazz singers, ‘Windows’ combines sublime vocals with rolling beats and a rumbling bassline to create an unforgettable track. Already a massive favourite with those lucky enough to have a copy on dub (Grooverider being an early supporter of the track on his Radio 1 show), ‘Windows’ is backed by the equally beautiful and euphoric ‘Chasing Dreams’ and for digital fans the laid back, funked-out roller ‘Jazz About You’.

That's What We Call Bass
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
Various Artists compilations in dance music are a funny breed. More often than not you’ll find one massive tune, padded out with a few fillers, all held together by some tenuous link and a catchy name dreamt up in a Shoreditch office. Our new collection of Drum and Bass tracks luckily has something different up its sleeve. The catchy, retro (and slightly tongue in cheek) name is present and correct; where this collection bucks the trend however is that there is no tenuous link, and definitely no fillers - only 4 of the dirtiest, bassiest, rolling dancefloor D&B tracks we’ve heard all year. This is not hands in the air material; more feet to the floor and screw faced skanking. Tracks from Serum and Northern Lights, Jaydan, Mutated Forms and Zen whcih are defiinately not to be missed!
B Sides, Stinkers and Hits You Slept On!
Monday, December 13, 2010
Since the release of his much anticipated ' Greatest Hits' compilation in 2009 the office at Grid Recordings has been inundated with requests to release more of Twisted's back catalogue for the digital generation. Not wanting to disappoint Twisted went back to his lair and has selected 22 more tracks from his back catalogue, this time shying away from the obvious big tunes, and heading for some of the less well known tracks - some which came out under different aliases, some of which appeared on the flip on big anthems, and some that just slipped under the radar. So here they are in all their glory the 'B Sides, Stinkers and Hits You Slept On' - enjoy!
Tyke and Prestige - Oh My!
Monday, December 06, 2010
As solo artists Tyke and Prestige have been hard at work over the last couple of years refining their brands of infectious dancefloor Drum and Bass. In recent months this hard worked as really started to pay dividends, with Tyke grabbing a spot on Andy C’s huge Nightlife 5 album on Ram Records, and Prestige catching the attention of Distorted Minds with releases through their D-Style label group. After linking up online, and despite living thousands of miles apart - Tyke is UK based, while Prestige is flying the flag for Russian D&B – they realised that together two heads were better than one and started collaborating. Plays from Grooverider, Hazard, Nicky Blackmarket and more suggest they’re doing something right!
Mutated Forms - Doubts - Out Now!
Monday, November 22, 2010
Joe Syntax - Slingshot - Out Now!
Monday, November 22, 2010
A relative newcomer to the Drum and Bass scene, Joe Syntax has begun to make quite a name for himself over the past few months. His first productions surfaced earlier this year on the legendary Hospital Records and their sister label Med School music, and he has already gained club and radio support from the likes of Hype, Fabio, London Elektricity and many other respected DJs and producers. Hailing from the West Country, but currently based in London, Joe has been soaking up the many musical influences around him, and the resulting productions definitely confirm that he is at the cutting edge, and one of best new skool producers out there. This 3 track single will mark his arrival on the scene and so brace yourself for forward thinking music, with stimulating atmospherics and a clear techno influence.

Amaning and Mutated
Tuesday, January 26, 2010
It's double trouble this week as new singles land on both Allsorts and Grid!
Amaning has burst onto the scene with a string of releases on some of the highest profile labels in the business over the past 2 years. With the likes of Goldie’s ‘Metalheadz’ and Marcus Intalex’s ‘Soul-r’ already gracing his discography you instantly know that Amanings productions are up there. Having proved his versatility across his releases to date his debut on Allsorts finds him in reflective mood with two deep rolling cuts of quality D&B.
Mutated Forms are kick off 2010 with their debut EP on Grid, and what a way to start the year! 4 avant-guard numbers from this Estonian production outfit, who have started to create quite a stir within the Drum and Bass world. Each track to find its way out of their studio has shown a different dimension to their sound, and the trend continues with this new release. It's Grim Up North
Monday, November 30, 2009
Burton and Kitcher aka Steppa and Kitcha aka Northern Lights. Confused? You won’t be for long. This EP marks the arrival of some serious contenders in the world of dancefloor drum and bass.
Leeds based Steppa, voted Best Breakthrough DJ at last year’s Drum & Bass Awards has been one of the North's leading DnB figures for the past 10 years. From his early days working with L Double (BBC 1Xtra) to his recent spate of club smashers, he has made the transition from DJ to Producer with great ease. Since teaming up with fellow Northern based DJ and producer Kitcha however things are really started to pick up some serious pace, and the Northern Lights project was born. Now after a year working in the studio they present their debut EP, the cheekily titled ‘It’s Grim Up North’.

Mutated Forms Join Grid and Urban
Tuesday, September 22, 2009
Mutated Forms continue their rise through the drum and bass ranks with two important recent signings. Firstly we are really pleased to announce that they are now signed exclusively to Grid Recordings and will releasing some exciting new material through the Grid and Allsorts imprints over the coming months.
The Estonian trio of G Ruff, Zub and Alex have had support from across the drum and bass world with their diverse releases receiving play from Fabio, Grooverider, Bailey and London Electricity amongst others. In a scene which tries to pigeon hole its artists Mutated Forms are proving a tricky bunch to pin down effortlessly turning their hand to a number of different styles.
The trio are also now part of legendary DJ Mickey Finn's Urban Agency who will be looking after all their live performances. On the roster alongside talent such as Danny Byrd, Simon Bassline Smith, Matrix & Futurebound and more they are in good company. So for all booking enquiries get in touch with them - www.urbanagency.co.uk
Cabbie comes on board
Monday, September 21, 2009
CABBIE is no stranger the world of drum and bass, with a huge amount of experience as a DJ, producer, sound engineer, dubplate mastering and club sound engineer, system support for Steinberg software, music tutor and record shop manager, this is an individual who knows his music. It should come as no surprise then that over the last 18 months Cabbie has seen his productions signed to leading labels such as Bryan Gee’s ‘Chronic’ and DJ Hype & Pascal’s ‘Ganja Records’ and as well as this he has recently started his own imprint ‘Pollution Recordings’ – definitely a busy man! Now we welcome him to Zombie with his debut release on the label.

Vital Elements comes crashing back onto Grid with his first release since the massive ‘Path Is Clear’ EP in 2008. His debut EP enjoyed support across BBC Radio 1 with plays from Colin Murray, Huw Stephens and the Zane Lowe show, and if that last release provided an introduction for many to the V2E sound, then these two fresh tracks confirm that he means business!

South vs North
Wednesday, September 09, 2009
Serum has been making big waves in recent months – releases on Creative Source and Dread Recordings as well as remixes of jungle anthems like ‘Papa Lover’ by DJ Stretch have seen his productions at the front of many DJs boxes. The diversity in his production has meant that his tracks has gained support from all corners of the scene, and so whether he’s bringing the jungle vibes back into D&B, getting technical with his beats, or going straight from the dancefloor, the result is the same every time – guaranteed satisfaction. They say two heads are better than one, if you team this bright talent up with two of the North of England’s finest DJ/Producers Northern Lights (aka Steppa and Kitcha) you know it spells trouble. Northern Lights are making a real name for themselves at the minute, and it’s not hard to see why D&B bibles ATMOSPHERE and K Mag are backing their skills right now.

‘The F Word’ was one of the first Twisted Individual tracks to make the wider D&B community sit up and take notice. In Ministry magazine in 2002 D&B innovator Peshay said “This track is f**king blazing! The thing I like about him is that he doesn’t stick to the so called d’n’b template. He’s very innovative in that he has a different step to his beats”. Issue 54 of DnB bible ATM in 2002 also said “This is one of those rare, buy on sight, releases!” As true today as it was then!
‘Wales’ is where it all began for Twisted Individual, following a chance meeting with DJ SS when he was at Music House cutting a dubplate of his brand new track. 19 year old Lee Greenaway suddenly found himself signed to Formation Records, with this track smashing dancefloors around the world as part of the legendary ‘World of Drum & Bass’ compilation.

Twisted Indiivdual - Greatest Hits
Monday, August 03, 2009
It is hard to believe that it’s been over 10 years since Twisted Individual came crashing onto the World of Drum & Bass with his 1999 jump up hit ‘Wales’. In the decade that’s followed he has proven himself to be one of the most colourful characters in the Drum & Bass scene, gaining notoriety as much for his music as the weird and wonderful titles he gives his tracks.
Truly a Drum & Bass innovator, the influence of Twisted Individual’s music can clearly be heard in many of today top producers. With 10 years behind him Twisted looks back and has personally collected 28 of his favourite tracks from his substantial back catalogue. A mixture of original material and massive remixes, as well as some excursions into slower tempos, this collection showcases the finest moment from his history and is the perfect starting point for anyone new to his work. For everyone who already knows the Twisted one this collection sees his biggest tracks available on Digital formats for the first time and is a must for even the casual D&B listener.

Reach for the stars

Hailing from a small town in Belgium, and at just 20 years old, Netsky is one of the most promising new producers of the moment. A purveyor of deep and soulful Drum and Bass Netsky perfectly balances the depth and musicality of his sound with big enough beats and bass to keep the dancefloor alive. Support from several big name DJ’s including BBC Radio 1’s Fabio are a sure sign this is the start of something very special.
His first single on Allsorts is out now and is causing quite a stir, having already been licensed to the Drum & Bass Arena Summer Classics compilation. As well as this Netsky has been on remix duties for Mutated Forms so look out for some fresh beats and collobartions from this exciting enw talent coming soon.

Liquid Allsorts Sampling
Monday, June 29, 2009
With the Liquid Allsorts - Volume 1 CD now selling like hot cakes we present two of the most in demand unreleased tracks from the mix on one lovely release. Featuring two wicked tracks, one from KG (Frequency / Baron Inc) and one from new talent Infectious this is a release of two halves, with two contrasting cuts of drum and bass flavas.
‘Lucky 17’ is an upbeat dancefloor tinged liquid number. Starting with just the raw drums sprinkled with a hypnotic effected piano riff looping over the beats - more and more percussion gets thrown into the mix until a female vocal of ‘what I need’ is the cue for a for the bass to slide in. A mystical aura surrounds the tune, and as the warm rounded bassline takes flights you’re off into fantasy land. With this track KG manages to perfectly balance between his sound with enough soul for the liquid heads and enough kick for the dancefloor massive.
‘Capital Connection’ is the debut release from new talent Infectious, hailing from Oxford, England, and if this track is anything to go by he is definitely one to watch for the future. Showing maturity beyond his years with this track, characterised by a deep funky bassline, tight snappy drums and dreamy auras. This is one of those tracks which gets into your head and stays there all day long – definitely infectious!

Friday 17th April sees an exciting new drum & bass night launch onto the London scene as part of the We Fear Silence project. A Bunch of Cuts was formed in late 2007 by a hugely talented group of producers and DJs. Initially an online music store, the aim was to provide a platform to present music past and present from all the artists’ labels. And as collectives go, you can’t get a more talented bunch than this: Calibre, Doc Scott, Klute, D-Bridge and Marcus Intalex. THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL
Sunday, March 01, 2009

TWISTED HITS PART 1
Tuesday, February 17, 2009
There are some dancefloor tracks which still do the business years after they first hit the scene, and these two classics from Twisted Individual definitely fit the bill. Both newly re-mastered by Stuart at Metropolis they are also sounding fresher than ever before!
With in excess of 300,000 hits on You Tube alone recently, Rusty Sherriff's Badge has had something of a resurgence becoming an online favourite and appearing on Channel 4's Rude Tube review of the year thanks to its unofficial Holy Ghost video. Still sneaking it way into upfront sets this track which originally appeared as a B-Side hasn't been available for several years on vinyl... until now!
'Gimp Mask was one of those marmite tunes you either loved or hated. However as it still gets plays from the likes of DJ Marky and Friction 6 years on, we think that this off key stepper sounds as innovative as it did back in 2003.

TWISTED GETS UGLY
Saturday, January 31, 2009
Twisted Individual returns to his Zombie imprint for the first time since in over a year and grabs the first release of 2009 with two catchy, but very different, jump up numbers.
Featuring the distinctive vocals of MC Biggie ‘Magnum Juice’ see Twisted in rowdy mode with a quick-stepping, fast-paced bassline work out that would punch a hole in even the toughest systems. Support has come from BBC 1Xtras Bailey and UNCZ’s Ruffstuff amongst others!
‘Jelly On A Plate’ see Twisted doing what he does best... something different. This one is definitely a grower, but you get sucked in from the first listen by the insane vocal snippets in the intro... “even more ugly than you”. Having been championed on radio for weeks by DJ Hype and then picked by Fabio for spins on Radio 1 this one has been generating positive feedback from all over.

Vital Elements comes to Grid with his debut EP ‘The Path Is Clear’, a huge collection of dancefloor ammunition, cementing his position as one of the leaders of the new skool. Destined to be a landmark release in his career Vital Elements explains this thinking behind the release. “The name represents my life with dnb. Been into it since it started back around 1993, bought decks in 1996 and started mixing, got the studio in 2000 and have spent ever since locked in there, learning the art. Music will be my life.”
